What to bring to your initial appointment at Gold Coast Breast and Endocrine Surgery.

Use this list to prepare for your first appointment with us:

  • Bring your referral from your GP or other specialist.

  • Any X-Rays, CT scans, Mammograms, Ultrasounds, MRI and other scans

  • Any blood tests and pathology reports

  • Any letters related to your referral (Breast screen, private screening reports)

  • Information about your current health (specialist letters, discharge summaries, list of current medications)

  • Your Medicare card, DVA card, pension card

  • Your private health fund details

  • You can bring a family member or friend for support

How long will my initial appointment take?

On the day of your consultation please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to allow time for filling patient information form at the reception.

Depending on the complexity of your referral, your first consultation will take around 30-60 minutes. Dr Clement will obtain your full medical history, perform examination, and explain your diagnosis, further tests and treatment options. In some patients a second or third appointment may be necessary to finalise your treatment.

Dr Clement will thoroughly discuss your treatment options and explain your chosen surgery. Dr Clement will answer all your queries and guide you through the process of informed consent. After your consultation, Dr Clement will communicate clearly the treatment plan with your referring doctor and other relevant health professionals.

When surgery is recommended Dr Clement and his team will explain the admission procedures and assist with the surgical booking.

Rescheduling & cancellations:

If you are running late for your consultation please phone our reception on (07) 5648 1880 and let our staff know, and we will endeavour to accommodate your request. If you need to reschedule your appointment please contact our reception as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to a new patient waiting for an appointment.

Financial information:

During your consultation Dr Clement will discuss your fees and charges for your treatment (Informed financial consent).  Any out-of-pocket fees will depend on the complexity of your surgical procedures and your private health fund cover. All fees will need to be paid in full prior to your surgery.

Payment for consultation is required on the day of your appointment. You may pay via EFTPOS, credit card, or cash. If you have any queries or concerns regarding fees, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Parking

Gold Coast Breast & Endocrine Surgery is located within John Flynn Private Hospital. There are over 1000 free car parks on site for all patients and visitors, and has a courtesy buggy that will pick you up from the parking areas and take you directly outside the hospitals main reception.

Disabled car parks are available and are located outside reception and adjacent to the Medical Centre, and there are a range of undercover & outdoor paid parking options available also.

Public Transport

There is a Surfside bus stop is directly opposite the main hospital entrance. Reception has timetables, or call the infoline on 131230.
